Job Title: Welder – Road Crew
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Welder to join our Road Crew team. This position involves traveling to various job sites to perform welding, fabrication, and maintenance work on steel boilers and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Must pass an uphill MIG bend test
Ability to travel for days or weeks at a time is required
Valid driver’s license preferred
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Set up, operate, and maintain Lincoln and Miller welding machines
Maintain and properly use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Interpret and work from project blueprints
Read and take accurate measurements
MIG weld all roots, fills, and caps on 516-70 steel boilers in compliance with welding standards
Use cranes to move boilers and parts throughout the shop
Repair minor weld defects using angle and pencil grinders
Repair leaking weld defects using the stick welding method
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Comply with OSHA standards and all company safety policies
Follow directions and job assignments from the Road Crew Supervisor
Proficiency in operating hand-held machinery and welding tools
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work
Timeliness and punctuality in meeting project deadlines
General understanding of welding procedures and safety protocols
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Ability to operate hand-held power tools and welding equipment for extended periods
Ability to lift over 40 pounds
Ability to work in tight spaces and high-temperature environments
Comfortable working in a physically demanding, hands-on role
