Planer Mill – Utility
Pay: $15.00/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–5:30 PM
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Planer Mill Utility Worker to join a fast-paced lumber manufacturing operation. This position rotates through various responsibilities within the planer mill and requires someone who is comfortable performing physically demanding, repetitive work throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Rotate through various planer mill job responsibilities and assigned work areas
- Shovel, lift, and carry boards and debris
- Help maintain a clean and organized worksite
- Perform repetitive manual tasks for extended periods
- Handle and move lumber as needed throughout the production process
- Work safely around moving mechanical equipment and machinery
- Follow established safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals
- Perform additional production duties as assigned
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Comfortable bending, shoveling, climbing stairs, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment
- Comfortable working in an environment with dust, loud noise, and exposure to environmental elements
- Able to maintain a safe and efficient pace in a fast-moving production environment
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or industrial experience is a plus
- Lumber manufacturing experience or knowledge is a plus
- Strong work ethic and sense of urgency
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with coworkers
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable and safety-conscious
