About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Planner Mill – Lumber Puller to join our production team. This is a physically demanding position that requires excellent physical strength, stamina, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling and sorting lumber, identifying wood grades and defects, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment around machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Pull, sort, and stack lumber from the planer mill line according to grade and size.
Inspect lumber for quality, grade, and defects with accuracy and consistency.
Work safely around conveyors, saws, and other mill machinery.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth production flow.
Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
Qualifications:
Strong physical strength and stamina to perform repetitive, hands-on labor in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to identify wood grades and recognize common defects.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Reliable, punctual, and safety-oriented.
Previous mill or lumberyard experience is an asset but not required—training will be provided.
