Fire Watch – 2nd Shift
Pay: $16.50/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 3:30 PM–3:30 AM
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Fire Watch employee to work second shift in a sawmill environment. This position is responsible for monitoring work areas for potential fire hazards while also assisting with general cleanup.
Responsibilities
- Monitor assigned areas for hot spots, smoke, sparks, or signs of fire
- Immediately report potential fire hazards or unsafe conditions
- Maintain awareness of surroundings throughout the shift
- Clean up sawdust, wood chips, debris, and other materials
- Help maintain clean and safe work areas
- Follow established workplace and fire-safety procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Work Environment & Qualifications
- Sawmill experience is a plus
- Must be comfortable working in small and cramped spaces
- Must be able to work around sawdust, wood debris, and an active sawmill environment
- Safety-conscious and able to remain alert throughout the shift
- Dependable and able to work the full scheduled hours
- Comfortable performing hands-on cleanup duties
